LOCATION
We are located in the small picturesque
village of Louin in the Deux Sevres region (Department 79)
Louin and the surrounding
villages have a rich vein of history going back in time some 16
centuries. There are many local attractions to be seen and
enjoyed such as the Chateaux in St Loup, the 12th century Roman
bridge and an ancient burial ground.
Only ten minutes drive away is Lac Cebron which is a
large Nature Reserve hosting a variety of water fowl, the ideal venue
for walking, picnics and bird watching.
Slightly further a field is the medieval walled town of
Parthenay where you will find many interesting historic building.
Refresh yourself in one of the many bars, cafes, restaurants. There is
also retail therapy for the shopaholics in your party. Lake Moncontour is
approximately 20 kms away and offers a safe beach style leisure lake
which is ideal for children.
In addition there are numerous renowned tourist
attractions such as Futuroscope, Le Parc Oriental a twenty nine acre
Japanese garden.
The famed West Coast town of La Rochelle offers a
great day out and is only 2 hours drive away.
To the north is the beautiful Loire Valley with its
Chateaux, river, markets, Troglodyte villages, and water mills. There
also many vineyards where you can sample the local wines.
